Property Description:
The two-storey, timber house is evocative of a style that is often associated with the seaside cottages of The Hamptons, but which really has its roots in provincial France. Add a little Victorian period detail, such as the decorative fire surrounds, and you have the unique melange that La Perouse presents.
From the windows and balconies the picturesque hillside garden and the glorious ocean view compete for your attention. Naturally, the upstairs suites, high over Lorne, enjoy the best of the seaside view. There are two suites upstairs, a third one downstairs with ocean glimpses, and the fourth "honeymoon" suite occupies a separate cottage in the garden, also with water views from its balcony.
Having hand basins in the rooms is very reminiscent of European pensiones, although here you also have the luxury of your own ensuite bathroom with unlimited hot water. Particular attention has been paid to the beds, with mattresses carefully selected for their superior support and comfort, while premium quality linen, quilts and pillows add the finishing touch.
The rooms have a romantic appeal with painted timber-lined walls and ceilings, and a mix of antique and country style furniture. Wicker chairs and a table offer the opportunity to sit beside the fireplace, by the French doors, or on the balcony according to the season.

Special Features:
Located on the ground floor of La Perouse is the 'guests only' cafe. Gravity coffee (Espresso, Cappuccino, Latte, Macchiato, Mocha, Flat White) and a wide selection of T2 teas are available. In summer the cafe also stocks Movenpick ice cream. The walls showcase original artworks for sale.
French breakfast (8am to10am in the cafe) is included in the tariff. Coffee and tea is made to order and for the rest it's a relaxed affair based on a self serve buffet with a variety of cereals, freshly squeezed juice, organic yoghurts, fresh fruit platters, pastries, croissants and local jams. Also, local sourdough bread and gluten-free fruit loaf is sliced and ready to toast. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast while reading one of the complimentary newspapers on hand.

Description of Rooms/Units:
Suite 1 is an upstairs suite with a king size bed (which can be configured as twin beds if required). The other three suites are furnished with queen size beds. All beds are fitted with electric blankets, exclusive quality linen and ample pillows.
Each room has a sitting area with a Victorian period-style fireplace (gas fire), a pair of chairs and a table, mini fridge, tea & coffee making facilities. A flat screen television with DVD facilities is mounted on the wall, and there is additional wall mounted electric heating. Each suite has its own private balcony to take full advantage of garden and ocean outlooks.
The upstairs ensuites (in La Perouse 1 & 2) are fitted with a shower and toilet. The ground floor ensuite (in La Perouse 3) has a spa bath, with the toilet separate. La Perouse 4, in the private cottage, has a double bath, and a separate toilet. Robes, large Egyptian cotton towels, hair dryer and L'Occitane toiletries are provided.
Services include wireless Internet, and off street parking is available for guests at no charge. |
